Ingredients for Beef Tetrazzini Casserole :
1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
12 ounces egg noodles
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1 cup beef broth
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup sour cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions for Beef Tetrazzini Casserole
1. Cook the Egg Noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 12 ounces of egg noodles and cook according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the Beef
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin and cook for 4-5 minutes, until browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
3. Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, until the onions are soft and the mushrooms are tender.
4. Make the Sauce
Sprinkle the ¼ cup all-purpose flour over the sautéed vegetables and stir to combine, cooking for about 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Gradually add the 1 cup beef broth and 1 cup heavy cream, stirring constantly to create a smooth sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
Stir in the ½ cup sour cream, 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, and ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese, stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Combine and Assemble
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles, beef, and creamy mushroom sauce. Toss everything together until evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
6. Bake the Casserole
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
7. Garnish and Serve
Once the casserole is baked, remove it from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for garnish.
Serve hot and enjoy!
